Hanoi Social club
Great coffee, vibes, and food!
Hanoi Social Club is one of my favorite cafes. It’s located in the Old Town where the city comes alive. This LGBTQ friendly cafe is unique. It’s retro vibes and amazing food makes it one of the best brunch spots in town. There are plenty of options to choose from, especially if you are vegan or vegetarian.
Hanoi Social Club is more than just the perfect brunch spot… they also have a fantastic cocktail /beer menu and live music. So, if you are looking for a cute date night then Hanoi Social Club should be at the top of your list.
Oh, and you have to try their polenta chips and guacamole!

Anita’s Cantina
Homemade salsa, and corn tortillas?
No matter what city I touch down in I am always on the search for tacos, and Anita’s Cantina did not disappoint This local restaurant in Hanoi saved me from my taco withdrawals. After walking around the hot streets of Vietnam, I came across a Mexican inspired restaurant. I ran to the front of the restaurant like a kid in a candy store where the friendly waiter happily introduced himself and walked me to a quiet outdoor table for two.
The menu here at Anita’s had everything I’d been dreaming about! Tacos, burritos, enchiladas, queso, and guacamole! Their Double Stack taco happens to be one of my favorites—definitely a must try. What’s a Double Stack you may ask? Well it’s a soft and hard taco glued together with queso cheese filled with carnitas, lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream, and cheese! I could tell everything was homemade after only one bite. #BestTacoInTown
If you are looking for Mexican food then Anita’s is your place.

Gòn Bites and Veggies
Looking for something a little healthier?
If so, then Gone Bites and Veggies is here just for you. This Vietnamese restaurant is located on a quiet street in Tay Ho and it’s surprisingly affordable. The menu consists of char-grilled pork loin, grilled chicken, spring rolls, black pepper beef, and of course veggies. They have plenty of vegan opinions if you are trying to save the planet… but I ordered the roasted chicken rice vermicelli!
Here at Gòn Bites and Veggies, you won’t have to pay a ridiculous price for a quality healthy meal. I have eaten at this restaurant at least 10 times while staying in Hanoi, and I promise they won’t not disappoint. Their food is very favorable and served with care.

Maazi
Best Indian Food in Hanoi… I think so!
Maazi is the type of restaurant you take your significant other to. The service here is superb, and the food in on another level. The restaurant's candle lite tables and classic but hip modern design most definitely sets the mood. Not only is the esthetic visually pleasing, but the food menu offers a variety of choices. A buffet option for dinner is defiantly the way to go if you want to sample a bit of everything. Pick between chicken tandoori, different salads, samosas, curries, naan, and rice. They even offer a good amount of vegetarian options like aloo gobi, which happens to be my favorite!
The buffet options are ordered off a special menu where everything is prepared fresh. If you aren’t the buffet type, then you may order off an la cart menu.

SunKat’s
Are you really looking to have it your way? If so, then Sunkats is the burger place for you.
SunKat’s allows you to create your own customized burger, and I’m not just talking beef. Here you can customize your own beef, chicken, beet, or mushroom burger. They offer 12 different condiments you can add which really allows you to create the perfect burger. Oh, and don’t forget about the different types of sauces you can choose from… . bbq, spicy mayo, garlic aioli, teriyaki, salsa, ketchup, mayo, mustard, and even their own burger sauce.
Not only is this an amazing burger joint, but it’s also a great place to get some work done. The wifi here is fantastic, and the view of the lake is mesmerizing.

Chops
Chops, you hold a special place in my heart!
After traveling for 7 months, I was in dire need of some western food and Chops was exactly what I was looking for. After closely inspecting the menu I came across one word that was going change everything—RANCH. I had been craving chicken wings and ranch for the last 4 months and I was so excited to have finally found some. Not only did they have bomb chicken wings but they also had Franks RedHot hot sauce… don’t judge me.
Oh, and have you ever had fried feta?
If you haven’t then you must visit Chops and order the beet salad with fried feta. They have created a salad so tasty you’ll consider going vegetarian! Looking for more than just a salad and wings? Chops also serves burgers, milkshakes, onion rings, nachos, and they even have a fantastic beer menu.
If you are craving some western food with a scenic view of West Lake, then make sure to check out Chops Tay Ho!

I guess I should get into the budgeting part… it’s probably the main reason why you clicked. So after traveling in the Philippines for 28 days, in Singapore for 5 days, and Malaysia 60 days in Malaysia, I’ve come to the conclusion that Southeast Asia is fu*king CHEAP compared to the USA.
