If you haven’t looked up places to stay on Agoda, then you are totally cutting yourself short. Agoda is one of the fastest growing hotel platforms around today and with thousands of hotels around the world… you are bound to find the perfect place to call home.
One of the main reasons I book on Agoda is honestly because they give me free money… yes, I said it, free money! After creating an account with Agoda you will receive Agoda cash on some of your purchases. You can later apply your Agoda cash to future bookings, which will ultimately save you more money.
Booking with Agoda is like hiring a personal assistant! After being an active member Agoda will begin to recommend places for you based on your booking history, so sit back and let Agoda find places for you. Remember TIME is EVERYTHING! I promise this feature will save you so much time.
Using Agoda is just… easy! Pictures of the exact room, local attractions, reviews, and a perfect description are all in one place. Stop going back and forth between different web browsers and let Agoda’s easy interface do all the work for you.

Looking for a nights stay or a month? Either way, Airbnb has you covered.
Airbnb, in my opinion is more of “local” experience. When using this platform you will most likely be staying in local neighborhoods surround by people who actually live there, which is why I love booking with them.
Airbnb even offers discounts! If you’re a traveler who loves staying in a city for more than a month at a time, then Airbnb is here to save you a few dollars. When booking more than 28 days you’ll receive a monthly discount. This discount can be anywhere from $30-$75 dollars — more money in your pockets!
Privacy is another reason why you should consider booking with Airbnb! Don’t get me wrong, I love staying in hotels and hostels but sometimes I need some “alone” time. So, if you are looking for more privacy but don’t want to pay hotel prices… book with Airbnb!
A lot of Airbnb’s also come equipped with kitchens so you can cook your own meals. Eating out every day can eat away at your travel budget… literally, so finding accommodations where you can cook your own meals is essential.
The online reviews of each place is another reason why I feel confident in booking with Airbnb. Pictures can be misleading so having the option to review comments left by individuals who have stayed there has been a game changer!!!
Thank you Airbnb, you have literally become my best friend while traveling!

Are you traveling solo? If so, then HostelWorld is a great option for you. Hostels bring like-minded people together which is the perfect recipe for a good time. Individuals who stay in a hostel are often looking to see the world on a budget.
Hostels also have a community feel which makes you feel right at home. They often organize group activities like walking tours, carpooling services, movie nights, even day trips you can sign up for.
Not sure where to go, or what to do? Don’t worry, hostels offer plenty of recommendations. The receptionists will know the best bus routes, popular places to eat, and even free events in the area. Booking a hostel is like booking a hotel with a personal travel agent!
Hostels can also offer privacy — you’ll just need book a private room. A lot of the time people associate hostels with room sharing but most hostels offer private rooms as well! If you crave more privacy but still want to meet other travelers, then consider booking a private room at a hostel.
I love meeting other travelers, but I love booking a hostel that lists free breakfast even more! I am the type of person who loves fruit, bread, and coffee in the morning and most hostels offer this free of charge! Waking up for free breakfast and coffee is also another great way to socialize.
Hostels are always a great option as you travel, especially if you want to save money.
Below is a list of a few places I’ve booked with Hostelworld:
Manila, Philippines: Manila-Z-Hostel
Siargao Island, Philippines: Salty Nomads
Melaka, Malaysia: Ringos Foyer Guest House
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico: Oasis Hostel

I guess I should get into the budgeting part… it’s probably the main reason why you clicked. So after traveling in the Philippines for 28 days, in Singapore for 5 days, and Malaysia 60 days in Malaysia, I’ve come to the conclusion that Southeast Asia is fu*king CHEAP compared to the USA.
